Prehistoric Fauna

Extinct mammals, birds and reptiles reconstructed at 1:20 scale, from the Miocene savannahs of Iberia to the mammoth steppe of the last Ice Age. The collection covers cave lions and sabre-toothed cats, woolly rhinoceros and mammoth, giant deer and ground sloths, the giant moa of New Zealand and the megalodon of the open sea.
Each reconstruction follows the fossil evidence as far as it goes — skull morphology, tooth wear, frozen carcasses, cave art — and takes a deliberately conservative position where the evidence runs out.
