Saber-toothed Cat, male, reconstructed at 1:20 scale and hand-painted in polyurethane resin. 130 × 70 mm. Sculpted by J. Miguel Aparicio, made to order.
The largest cat that ever lived, exceeding 300 kilograms and confined to South America. Smilodon populator was proportionally taller at the shoulder than at the hip, giving the sloping profile reproduced here, and its canines were the longest of any saber-tooth.
Modelled by hand in heat-hardened clay over a wire armature, moulded in silicone and cast in polyurethane resin. Every copy is cleaned, retouched and painted by hand in acrylics, so no two pieces are ever strictly identical.
Made to order. Each casting is finished individually, so please allow time for preparation before dispatch.
