Irish Elk, reconstructed at 1:20 scale and hand-painted in polyurethane resin. 160 × 180 mm. Sculpted by J. Miguel Aparicio, made to order.
Neither Irish nor an elk, Megaloceros carried the largest antlers of any known deer — up to 3.6 metres across and regrown every year. Surviving in pockets until roughly 7,700 years ago, it is among the most recognisable of all Ice Age mammals, and the antler span dominates the sculpture.
Modelled by hand in heat-hardened clay over a wire armature, moulded in silicone and cast in polyurethane resin. Every copy is cleaned, retouched and painted by hand in acrylics, so no two pieces are ever strictly identical.
Made to order. Each casting is finished individually, so please allow time for preparation before dispatch.
