Chinese Giant Deer, reconstructed at 1:20 scale and hand-painted in polyurethane resin. 180 × 170 mm. Sculpted by J. Miguel Aparicio, made to order.
An East Asian giant deer known from the same Zhoukoudian deposits that produced Peking Man. Its antlers are unlike those of any living deer: a broad, flattened brow tine projects forward over the face, a structure that makes this one of the more demanding pieces to cast and paint.
Modelled by hand in heat-hardened clay over a wire armature, moulded in silicone and cast in polyurethane resin. Every copy is cleaned, retouched and painted by hand in acrylics, so no two pieces are ever strictly identical.
Made to order. Each casting is finished individually, so please allow time for preparation before dispatch.
