Cinereous Vulture, reconstructed at 1:20 scale and hand-painted in polyurethane resin. 30 × 61 mm. Sculpted by J. Miguel Aparicio, made to order.
The largest bird of prey in Europe, with a wingspan approaching three metres. Once close to disappearing from Spain, the cinereous vulture survives today in a handful of Iberian strongholds. The sculpture captures the hunched, heavy-shouldered posture of a bird at rest, with the ruff of pale down that frames the bare head.
Modelled by hand in heat-hardened clay over a wire armature, moulded in silicone and cast in polyurethane resin. Every copy is cleaned, retouched and painted by hand in acrylics, so no two pieces are ever strictly identical.
Made to order. Each casting is finished individually, so please allow time for preparation before dispatch.
